Khoda
What if you were to watch a film and whenever you paused it, you faced a painting? This idea inspired Reza Dolatabadi to make Khoda. Over 6,000 paintings were painstakingly produced over two years to create a five-minute film that would meet high personal standards. Khoda is a psychological thriller; a student project which was seen as a ‘mission impossible’ by many people but eventually proved possible!

Khoda
Here is a minute preview of my short film “Khoda”. This film is my final year project for my animation degree. I started the project in 2006 with a vague concept by me and a friend of mine Mark Szalos Farkas . In June 2006 Adam Thomson joined us as a 3D artist. Adam and I worked on pre-production (Animatic, Story board, Character design, etc) and managed to finish that by the end of September 2006. Mark came back to the project later that year as an animator, and so far we have finished more than half of the film. If everything stays on schedule, the final film will be ready by March 2008.

Subject #164
Filmed in the early 60s, this laboratory documentary follows a newly discovered and apparently unintelligent Neanderthal human-like specimen which is found, through testing, to have amazing logic-solving intelligence. We observe the progress of 'Subject #164' over a period of approximately three years as scientists document its behaviour and progress, until in the end it is exhaustively tested to death.

One of Many
You know who you are and that feels good but part of you tells you to keep pushing forward. So you invent, you struggle, then you hesitate. Do I really want to get out of where I am? You can see it’s not out of reach and that keeps you thinking and challenging yourself, because there’s such joy in discovery. There’s joy in the “now” and just reaching for new levels. Explore the nature of exploration and how it is tied to self discovery. Our three minute film is about overriding the inner critics and using them at the same time to move onwards. In the end no matter where we get to, it is the process of taking the path and discovering the now which may be the most important and revelatory aspects of our journeys.

Halloween Preview + Review: Zombie Does Carpenter
It's a tricky thing, doing a remake of a Hollywood Classic... but with a legion of fans all his own, Rob Zombie has the cult-power to do Halloween Remake with a certain degree of comfort that his audience will come out and support it. We're not specifically that audience, but we're both pretty familiar with the Halloween mythos. Familiar enough to think that a "revisitation" of John Carpenter's famous character treads on very hallowed ground indeed... what did we make of it? Have a look. ~Matt + Nat

Interview: Malcolm Mcdowell
In a raging fit of providence aligning with hard work on the part of Nat and her chase producing skills, Matt was granted an audience with the august Mr. Malcolm McDowell himself to talk about Star Trek, Heroes, and of course, the upcoming revisitation of Michael Myers and Halloween. We'll have a sweet preview of Halloween for you in short order, but for now, enjoy watching Matt try desperately to keep his cool in the presence of a legend. ~Matt + Nat
