In this alternative reality where major corporations do the right thing, Dow Chemical (the present owner of Union Carbide, the company behind the spill), claimed full responsibility for the tragedy and announced a multibillion dollar compensation package. Dow stock prices lost over $2 billion in value in 20 minutes, before the hoax was revealed.
