England and Wales has the highest imprisonment rate in Western Europe at 153 per 100,000 of the population. Prison population across the UK stands at over 92,000.Families of prisoners are the invisible victims of crime, serving their own sentence of isolation, stigma and financial struggle.This is one of 5 short films commissioned by Prisoners' Families and Friends' Service to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by the families of prisoners, and to highlight the contribution they can make to reducing reoffending.According to Government research, prisoners who are supported and visited by their families are 25% less likely to reoffend than those who have no family contact or support.Find out more at: Families on Trial.org.
