Marissa, a senior, is acting and dressing strange and her friends Teni and Sara don’t understand why. Simone sits in the principal’s office shocked to learn that she may not pass her junior year. Ray is being harassed by his former friends Terrence and Sam in the hallway and Miguel and his girlfriend Leah are fighting yet again, this time about whether he should play football this year. Once these students file into class, they discover they have a special guest speaker who has come to talk to them about dating violence. As Marissa, Simone, Ray, and Miguel listen, they think back to events at the party and must come to face to face with the secrets they’ve been trying to hide. Fallout explores the growing problem of dating violence among teens and its affect not only on the victims, but also their friends and families. Using a mix of narrative accounts and candid interviews with real-life teens, this gritty docudrama follows a group of students as they experience physical, sexual, and psychological violence and its aftermath.
