Sunset in a city somewhere, anywhere, a lamp post starts to move about and comes alive. A gentleman happens upon the scene with a newspaper under his arm. Taking advantage of the light from the street lamp, the man starts to read and suddenly starts to laugh. His laughter captures the curiosity of the lamp-post which comes in closer to have a look. At this point, a physical and psychological contest between the two begins and ends up in a real fracas. With the arrival of the dawn, everything settles and both go their separate ways. It was all just a dream...
