The Aisling Return to Ireland project was begun by workers in the London Irish Centre and Arlington house, the biggest homeless hostel in Europe which has been home to more Irish men than any other building outside Ireland. The Aisling Return to Ireland project provides supported holidays 4 times a year in Ireland for long-term emigrants, fulfilling what is for many a dream of seeing their homeland again. Harry Clarke, Irish stained- glass artist and illustrator, was born on St Patrick's Day 1889 in Dublin, Ireland. This short film clip celebrates his birthday and St Patrick's Day. It was filmed in the Honan Chapel and The Crawford Gallery in Cork, with permission, with thanks and with pleasure.

Eve Mctelenn plays the harp, on Turlough 'O Carolan's resting place, in Ireland. O Carolan - 1670 to 1738 - was a blind itinerant Irish harpist. Tunisian born French woman opens our eyes to this musician. The tune played in this video is called "Kenavo friends" and means "farewell friends". Eve McTelenn was a finalist in Wyllie O Hagan's Inaugural St Patricks Day Competition, March 2007 on YouTube.

Geesala beach, Co Mayo is the venue for the Doolough horse race meeting - on the beach. It's held once a year in August. It is very exciting to watch the races with Achill Island forming a spectacular back-drop. In this video O Hagan talks to a bookmaker couple who describe the races - called flaps - in Ireland.

Here we see a rhubarb crumble being made. The routines of baking in this home are handed down from mother to daughter. In the making of this crumble, we see how children can learn to make their own food. You will hear the family speak some simple Irish words and phrases. The family's home is in the Gaeltacht - an Irish-speaking region of Ireland, in Donegal.
