Reuters: At least 13 dead in Midwest floods 21 March

The Missouri Department of Transportation showed dozens of roads closed by floods across the southern one-third of the state. Parts of the state received upwards of 25 cm of rain this week.

The wet weather is also taking its toll further South. Local news stations report emergency crews are still searching for a 14-year old boy swept down a creek in Mesquite, Texas as the storm hit yesterday. Katharine Jackson reports.

Now Missouri's governor has declared a state of emergency and President Bush has approved federal assistance for the state...as the storm continues moving northeast.

Flooding in Bolivia has killed at least 27 people since last November.

A violent tornado also hit Pensacola, Florida, injuring at least 4 people and damaging a local mall and a church.
