Izumo: Episode 6, Four Sacred Beasts
Having lost the homeland, Amaterasu, Queen of Nenokuni, makes a decision to engage in a decisive battle with the army of the Evil Spirits. She wants to take Takeru and his friends back to the Land of Reed Field (‘Ashiharano-Kuni’) (the normal world for humans). She needs the “Art of the Anti-Spirit” performed by Sakuya with the help of Four Sacred Beasts in the Horai Mountains. Takeru and his friends escort Sakuya to the mountain. After conquering many obstacles, Sakuya finally makes the divine oath. Just then, Mai controlled by Oh-Numuji, kidnaps Asuka. The wicked strategist, then, sends the army of the Evil Spirits to the Horai Mountain.

Izumo: Episode 4, The Way this World Is
Takeru and his friends are surprised to hear a report that Takeshi is fighting with the Evil Spirits. Rushing to the Village of the Black Forrest, they hear from a wounded soldier that he was hacked by a man like Takeshi. Takeru and his friends move on after the army of Evil Spirits, and find a totally destroyed village. The villagers say they were attacked by humans not the Evil Spirits. Takeru decides not to go further and returns to the Village of Gods with his friends. On the same night, Mai breaks the sacred barrier stone of the Village of Gods.

Izumo: Episode 3, Parted Friends
When Takeru and 2 girls are brought to the hidden “The Village of Gods” Amaterasu, the leader of the mounted corps tells Takeru that they are fighting against an enemy called “The Evil Spirits.” Takeshi and Kotono were taken away by Himiko, the mistress of the Evil Spirits. In the mean time, Takeshi woke to learn that he is in a different world called ‘Nenokuni’ and he is the reincarnation of Susano-Oh, the vicious God of War. He does not believe it, but decides to stay with the army of the Evil Spirits, hoping to find a good chance to get away. While the army is moving on, a militia of human beings attacks it. Takeshi slashes a man accidentally to protect himself.

Izumo: Episode 7, Confrontation in a Fortress
Takeru slashes the evil spirits one after another with the sword powered by the four Sacred Beasts though it’s not easy for him to control it. Takeru leads his friends to the fortress of the Evil Spirits to save Kotono, Asuka and Mai. When the three girls flee, a man gets in their way. It is Takeshi. Fierce swordfight! Clashing brave heart! The Sphere of Heaven and Earth in Sakuya’s hand begins glowing! Takeru asks Takeshi to come with him, but Takeshi refuses. And “the Art of the Anti-Spirit” has been invoked. Then, Takeru and his party slowly disappear in the dazzling light, leaving Takeshi alone…

Izumo: Episode 1, Call in a Dream
Takeru Yagi goes to Izumo Academy with Kotono and Asuka, two pretty sisters he has known since they were small kids. He meets his best friend, Takeshi Yamato at the school. Takeru and Takeshi used to live at an orphanage together a long time ago. The boys have been troubled with a strange dream of an unknown woman sobbing in distress. After school Takeru and Takeshi join the intensive training of Kendo, the swordfight. It is the announcement day of the selected swordfighter for the Inter-High School Championship. Everybody thinks Takeshi will be selected, but it is Takeru who they think is always behind Takeshi. Frustrated, Takeshi takes it out on Kotono. When Takeru comes to stop Takeshi, a dazzling white light covers the entire campus.

Izumo: Episode 2, Strange World
Takeru becomes conscious to find the school has been turned into ruins. Seri, Asuka and the other girls who were with him have disappeared. Meanwhile, Takeshi is wandering with Kotono around the school. Nobody else is there and the school is covered with strange ivy plants they have never seen. Takeru finally meets Takeshi, Kotono and their other friends after he narrowly escapes the attack of giant insects. But, then, suddenly, a group of men dressed in all black clothes leap out of nowhere and snatch Takeshi and Kotono. Takeru and his friends are saved by a mysterious mounted troop. A girl named Sakuya in the troop guides them on the mountain roads. Mai, a Takeru’s classmate, also fell into this weird world, joins Takeru and Sakuya. Suddenly the part is attacked by unknown soldiers.

Izumo: Episode 11, Raging Heart
It is the decisive battle against the Army of the Evil Spirits.” Takeru induces the enemy into a trap and push them into the fortress. Takeshi leaps in front of Takeru and a fierce battle of two swordsmen begins. Takeru falls in trance by the power of Susano-Oh’s soul who struggles to revive. When Minakata tries to stop this battle, Takeru’s sword pierces his chest. Takeshi gets enraged at the death of his follow soldier. Takeru comes to himself, but he now has to take on vengeful attack of Minakata’s father. He loses the will to fight. He prepares for death. But, then, Himiko opens her spiritual barrier and takes him out to her domain.

Izumo: Episode 9, The Thing that a Man Should Protect
Realizing Takeru possesses Susano-Oh’s spirit, Himiko tries to capture him with her power of dark spell. Takeru narrowly flees Himiko’s magic thanks to Kotono’s fight at the risk of her life. Her spirit is blown away to “the Land of the Dead” by tremendous impact. Takeru needs the help of 4 Sacred Beasts for rescue of Kotono. Rin, the loyal servant of Himiko comes up and reveals Takeru’s previous incarnation.Takeshi is seeing Kotono’s death in his dream. A mysterious voice urges him to jump in the vortex if he wants to help her out. Takeru does so without hesitation.

Izumo: Episode 8, A Peaceful Time
Thanks to the power of Art of the Anti-Spirit, Takeru and the girls including Sakuya who accidentally tagged along with them are safely back to their world and have a peaceful morning after a long hard time. For Sakuya, everything is new and surprise here. She is excited at the shopping center, game arcade and the pool. Meanwhile, in Nenokuni the domain of the Evil Spirits, Himiko is calling for Susano-Oh inhabiting in Takeshi. The man who responds to Himiko’s invocation is Takeru. It seems that the spirit of Susano-Oh lurks in Takeru as well. When the phase of the moon becomes right, Takeru and his friends goes back to Nenokuni to take back Takeshi.

Izumo: Episode 12, Two Spirits
In the Himiko’s shrine, Takeru is looking for Takeshi. Takeshi makes up his mind to be true Susano-Oh. Two swordsmen measure swords in front of Himiko. Takeshi’s devastating hatred clashes on Takeru. “If you hate me so much, kill me now,” Takeru pulls out his sword. Takeshi flings up the sword. But, that sword is never swung down… The shrine begins falling down. The soul of Susano-Oh is purified and set out for the Land of the Dead. The long war finally comes to end. Soon after, two swordsmen chose new life… Guess what?
