Attenborough's Private Life of Plants – Fungi

Sir David Attenborough studies the growth and reproduction of plants. Here he explores the brief but spectacular life of fungi using fantastic time-lapse photography. Reproduction of fungi is usually via spores, the fungal equivalent of seeds, which are often produced on eleborate-looking structures. But as soon as their spores have been shed – sometimes after only a few days – these stunning constructions collapse, becoming nothing more than food for maggots.
