The Film Festival Project - Sundance
Set amidst the beautiful Park City landscape, The Film Festival Project explores the legendary Sundance Film Festival. Founded by actor Robert Redford, Sundance prides itself on indie spirit and launching the careers of many young filmmakers. It has, however, become a clash of film appreciation and excessive marketing gimmicks. Ryan Heil, event organizer extraordinaire, allows us an exclusive look into his often off-limits parties, including one DJ’d by Napoleon Dynamite star Efren Ramirez. Beyond the jaw-dropping gift houses, and celebrity-ridden events, some of the world’s most successful indie films still exist at the heart of the festival. One such film is the political documentary 'Chicago 10', which Redford chose specifically as the opener, because he felt it captured the spirit of the festival’s intention. The films are there, but has spirit left Sundance forever?
