THE WALL - Live in Berlin Part 1 of 2
On the 9th of November 1989, the world witnessed the opening of the Berlin Wall and the start of the demise of the communist Bloc. Shortly afterwards, Roger Water’s seminal rock opera, “The Wall”, was staged in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin to mark the end of the alienation between East and West Europe. This multi-million dollar show was cast with The Marching Band of the Soviet Army, a full orchestra, a choir of 100 people, 150 extras and a host of stars. It is simply the most spectacular rock opera ever staged. Fantastic pyrotechnics, enormous puppets and powerful projection are featured throughout the programme and mixed with Gerald Scarfe’s tortured animation. Featuring, Bryan Adams, The Band, Tim Curry, Thomas Dolby, The East Berlin Rundfunk Orchestra, The East Berlin Rundfunk Choir, Marianne Faithful, Andy Fairweather Low, Albert Finney, James Galway, Jerry Hall, Cyndi Lauper, Ute Lemper, The Marching Band of the combined Soviet Forces in Germany, Joni Mitchell, Paddy Moloney, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, Scorpions and Roger Waters
