NEW YORK: Custom Cars

Hefty cars from the 40s & 50s are not rare on New York’s streets. However the custom cars from the garage of the Bronx based Rumblers are plastic-surgeoned metal jewels. The eighteen members of the custom car club are always on the case of old-timer rust. Car wrecks are polished in the workshop, then chopped by a couple of inches, welded and varnished. The Rumblers value fenders especially, which only real old-timers have. After excessive screwing around, the Rumblers and other custom-car cowboys meet every Sunday evening at the Union Pool Bar in trendy Williamsburg. Everyone poses with their motors here, talks shop, drinks and in the summer additional barbecues are held.
