NEW YORK: Pointz

The former Phun Phactory reopened in 2004 as 5 Pointz. The old factory building is the largest graffiti museum in the world. The disused factory in Queens' Long Island City is the only building in New York where sprayers from all over the world can compete in an aerosol battle. In this health resort for police-stressed sprayers, you can find the freshest graffiti in town. But wild bombing and tagging isn’t appreciated as well. Only those with the best black books and photographs, get a spot for spraying. Here you find urban art instead of graffiti scrawl. Graf artist Meres named the factory after the five boroughs in New York. Meres allocates paint spots according to the sprayer’s ability. All levels are welcome and instructions are offered.
