In South Georgia parent king penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) return from the ocean. Each chick follows its parent bird until a meal of regurgitated krill is presented.

Sandy cliff is home to bee-eaters
Red Cliffs, 30km north of the Nxamaseri River in Botswana's Okavango Delta is peppered with holes that belong to carmine bee-eaters (Merops nubicoides). The birds have distinctive pink plumage and they tunnel into the red sandy cliffs to make nesting holes where they breed during their southerly migration.

Welcome rains have fallen on the Drakensberg plateau, bringing life to a variety of flora species. Adjacent to the cliffs below, a Cape griffon vulture (Gyps coprotheres) and bearded vultures (Gypaetus barbatus) ride thermals as the mist rolls in and obscures the scenic view.

In the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana, a variety of birds chase fish in a pond that has been cut off by receding floodwaters. The various bird species each hunt using a different technique. Species include: yellow-billed stork (Mycteria ibis), great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) and marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumeniferus).
