The Gories in Road Trippin’ with Ice Cream Man
"Here it is! The Gories, Detroit's legendary garage rock band back together for the first time in 17 years! Amazing. We knew it was going down so, on route from Bonnaroo to Athfest, we stopped by Memphis and rocked out to ""Telepathic"". This is one of the songs that got me into them when I first found the album, Outta Here, in a stack of trade-in records at Fingerprints in Long Beach, CA. Needless to say... Something worth celebrating for sure. Check out more videos at www.babelgum.com/icecreamman. song: The Gories "Telepathic".

Broken Social Scene and Man Man in Road Trippin'...
Rothbury Festival, set in amongst the woods, makes for one of the more scenic festivals to catch performances from the likes of Bob Dylan and Broken Social Scene, who stopped by the truck for a creamy treat. But this weeks performance is really something special...Man Man will break your heart with this woodbound rendition of their new track "Rabbit Habits". Check out more videos at www.babelgum.com/icecreamman. song: Broken Social Scene: "Oooh Canada", Man Man "Rabbit Habits".

Cold War Kids and Bloodkin in Road Trippin' With...
Athen's locals Bloodkin & Madeline were well worth catching before we made the 1600 mile journey to Rothbury, MI for the annual Rothbury Festival. Now in it's second year, Rothbury is an amazing festival set in the woods. We turned up at exactly the same time as Cold War Kids, fresh off the plane from France, they dug into the box of tricks we've been collecting and performed a stunning version of "Something's Not Right With Me". Enjoy! Check out more videos at www.babelgum.com/icecreamman. song: Bloodkin: "Little Margherita", Cold War Kids "Something's Not Right With Me".

Jovanotti in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream Man
Never a dull moment in New York City. First up we hit Brooklyn Bowl, a new music and bowling venue in Williamsburg where O’Death played to a packed house for opening night. Since Bonnaroo, we have been trying to hook up with Wilco and decided to head to their gig at Keyspan Park, Coney Island to sling some cream to our fellow Wilco fans. Sadly, the pressure was on for Wilco and they did not make it out for a truck side performance. Later that night, tipped off by the Village Voice & Nublu, we went to catch the Italian superstar Jovanotti. This weeks exclusive live performance of “Safari” by the Italian Superstar is a rare treat for those only used to seeing him from up high in the stadium seats around the world. Flaming Lips and Times New Viking in Road Trippin'...
A road trip mapped out by the best events in music is one hell of a way to spend a summer, but Pitchfork Festival is by far one of the highlights for us. It’s a jam packed episode with Plants and Animals performing "Feedback in the Field" and headliner, Wayne Coyne, from Flaming Lips stopping by the truck to sling cream with Ice Cream Man. After watching Times New Viking kill it at "Bitchpork" (unofficial after show party) we asked if they'd stop by the truck next day to play us their new tune “No Time, No Hope". Song by Plants and Animals: "Feedback in the Field" and Times New Viking, “No Time, No Hope". "Oh Yeah" performed by Reredux. Enjoy! And for more, go to www.babelgum.com/icecreamman

Black Lips and Trail of Dead in Road Trippin' With...
Nothing like a bit of drama. First day, just settled in at 10,000 Lakes Festival in Minnesota, and this really 'friendly' dude from the local health department turns up and shut us down for not meeting local health regulations. That put a full stop to the slinging and we needed a plan B fast! Our friends back East throw the infamous Jelly Pool Parties all summer long and they'd been asking us when we were going to swing by... so a quick decision was made and we hit the road back to Brooklyn! Black Lips and You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead... Made it well worth the two day / 14,000 mile journey.
