Jovanotti in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream Man
Never a dull moment in New York City. First up we hit Brooklyn Bowl, a new music and bowling venue in Williamsburg where O’Death played to a packed house for opening night. Since Bonnaroo, we have been trying to hook up with Wilco and decided to head to their gig at Keyspan Park, Coney Island to sling some cream to our fellow Wilco fans. Sadly, the pressure was on for Wilco and they did not make it out for a truck side performance. Later that night, tipped off by the Village Voice & Nublu, we went to catch the Italian superstar Jovanotti. This weeks exclusive live performance of “Safari” by the Italian Superstar is a rare treat for those only used to seeing him from up high in the stadium seats around the world. Band of Horses in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream Man
One of the best things about being backstage at the festivals is all the free BEER and ICE CREAM. This episode turned out to be a little something special.... At Lollapolooza, Band of Horses took the idea of improvising one step further and put those well earned FREE beers to work in the form of a beer-bottle orchestra for a performance of an exclusive new track, “Modelo”. Amazing. More to dig at www.babelgum.com/icecreamman

Blind Pilot and The Builders and The Butchers in...
This episode closes our time at the Lollapalooza music fest, sad to see it go, but we got some great performances on the way out. We found a lovely spot off in the flower beds for an intimate performance with Portland folk band, Blind Pilot. With its wistful melodies and beautiful harmonies, they've been hailed as the new gem of the Pacific Northwest - home of such music as The Shins, Elliot Smith, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Formerly from Alaska, The Builders and The Butchers, found a place in the shade to woo us with their soulful Americana. All and all a nice farewell cheers to a weekend of great music! Song: Blind Pilot "Two Towns"; The Builders and The Butchers "Black Elevator". Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Deer Tick and Joe Pug in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream...
When founding farther and acclaimed musician, George Wein, staged the first folk festival in Newport, he had a vision to bring established talents and fresh voices together to on one stage stage. 50 years later, he is still true to this idea with acts like Pete Seeger and Joan Baez playing along side this weeks guest performers on Road Trippin', Joe Pug and Deer Tick. Good times and good vibes in Newport's Fort Adams. song: Deer Tick "Friday XIII"; Joe Pug "Call It What You Will" Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Dyme Def & Matt and Kim in Road Trippin' With Ice...
"Bumbershoot is one of the biggest music and arts festival in the US. Hosted every labor day in Seattle, the line up is usually pretty diverse and the event organizers go the extra mile with the fun-fair themed entertainment. Taking in some of that action with Matt and Kim, we learnt that Matt has got a pretty crazy straight pitchin’ arm and Kim... Well, we’re not judging her on her ability to hit a target. The break through act, from Renton and one of the biggest Hip Hop acts in Northwest, Dyme Def turned up for some sweet treats. The prolific trio break it down for Ice Cream Man with an awesome rendition of “Not That Dude” you are gonna love it. Song: Dyme Def: ""They Like My Flavor""; Dyme Def "" Not That Dude"". The Dodos and Fruit Bats in Road Trippin' With Ice...
What a week! One of the most beautiful in Ice Cream Man history. A staple of the Sub Pop indie music label, Fruit Bats, give us a last serenade as we wander down the west coast from Oregon to California. Anyone from this part of the country could tell you that you can't do this drive without doing two things on the way: river swimming and a wander through the redwoods. Matt does both. His 5 story rock dives can't be recommended to the faint of heart, but its sure fun to watch! Once in the bay, we met up with the ever-charming band, The Dodos for a performance that's sure to make anyone leave their heart in San Francisco. If you haven't heard this band yet, you're missing the boat . . .Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Hey Marseilles and Cymbals Eat Guitars in Road Trippin'...
We’re in Oregon for Portland’s Music Fest North West and inspired by the recently tattooed Joseph D’Agostino, from Cymbals Eat Guitars – Ice Cream Man & Knife decided it was time for a permanent reminder of this wild ride. It’s our 3rd year at MFNW – a chilled festival with, this year, Modest Mouse headlining. We wrapped up the weekend with an awesome truck side sing a long with Hey Marseilles and their accordions and trumpets.

Daniel Johnston and Blitzen Trapper in Road Trippin'...
The summer tour wraps up at our last major festival of the year, Austin City Limits where we got a little sentimental and invited way more musicians to play than we could possibly air (if there’s any bands reading this… sorry, it only happened once). The downside of having so many artists play in or around the truck is that there wasn’t much time left to get out and see the bands that were playing. The upside was that we had a great parking space, a hundred yards or so from the Dell stage which had tons of great bands on it (Bon Iver, Felice Brothers, Andrew Bird, Dr. Dog, Grizzly Bear, Blitzen Trapper, Dirty Projectors and more) and we could listen to their sets while slinging. Daniel Johnston is the first of two legends who graced us with a rare acoustic performance of "True love will find you in the end”. Blitzen Trapper and The Henry Clay People did not disappoint, but what ever you do – don’t miss the up coming grand finale in the series...Rodriquez, Here We Go Magic, Suckers and a little ICM cathartic soul cleansing :) for more go to www.babelgum.com/icecreamman
