Heartless Bastards in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream...
"Summer came, and you went a wondering" sing Cincinnati, Ohio originals, Heartless Bastards, in their absolutely beautiful rendition of “So Quiet”. Well, that’s what we have been doing since back in May. Its the end of August now, and we’re in San Francisco for Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. We didn't make it there this year, but were lucky enough to catch Burning Man favorites Albino! Watch them & Reggie Watts keep it light and real and it’s sun drenched a joy to be able to catch acts like Infantree here. We never want summer to end. Song: Infantree: "Where I'm From"; Albino featuring Reggie Watts: "Playaside"; Heartless Bastards " So Quiet". Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Os Mutantes and Reggie Watts in Road Trippin' With...
San Francisco, one of our favorite cities, doesn’t disappoint. Festival favorite and all round funnyman Reggie Watts gives us a cheeky impersonation of Kyp from TV on The Radio and even has Ice Cream Man singing on his freestyle jingle. The real treat in this episode is going backstage with Brazilian superstars Os Mutantes, you mustn’t miss this stellar performance! Song: Reggie Watts "Mr. Ice Cream Man"; Os Mutantes "Nuero Ciencia Do Amor". Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Telekinesis and Lenka in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream...
Still at Bumbershoot, we catch up with Emily Haines, the lead singer of new-wave funsters Metric, by far one of Canada's hottest exports. Seattle songwriter, Telekinesis (aka Michael Benjamin Lerner) wins us over with golden vocal harmonies and perfect choruses and we get fresh and whimsical, with Aussie export Lenka. Sun’s a-shining and the weather is sweat yeah. Ice Cream Man is "slingin' the cream, living the dream". Song: Telekinesis: "I Saw Lightning"; Lenka "The Show". Black Lips and Trail of Dead in Road Trippin' With...
Nothing like a bit of drama. First day, just settled in at 10,000 Lakes Festival in Minnesota, and this really 'friendly' dude from the local health department turns up and shut us down for not meeting local health regulations. That put a full stop to the slinging and we needed a plan B fast! Our friends back East throw the infamous Jelly Pool Parties all summer long and they'd been asking us when we were going to swing by... so a quick decision was made and we hit the road back to Brooklyn! Black Lips and You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead... Made it well worth the two day / 14,000 mile journey.

The Cool Kids, Raphael Saadiq and Tha Boogie in Road...
Live from Pomona, California we've got hip-hop duo, The Cool Kids, performing "Notes." Never heard 'em do that one? That's because they just made it up! After gettin' served up this fresh freestyle, we head to the Blakeslee Recording Studio where Raphael Saadiq introduces us to rising R&B group, Tha Boogie. This acoutisic performance recalls the soulful styles of classic Motown. Tha Boogie is a good example of the work coming out of Blakeslee right now, explains Saadiq. And if you really haven't gotten the message yet, Saadiq's silky smooth performance of "Big Easy" ought to take you there. Song: The Cool Kids "Notes"; Tha Boogie "Runnin'"; Rapheal Saadiq "Big Easy" Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Deradoorian and Icy Demons in Road Trippin' With...
For those that don't know, Lollapalooza music festival is the brainchild of Jane's Addiction frontman, Perry Farrell, and like its creator has a reputation for being one of the last true monuments to rock. Based in the heart of Chicago, this year the "Windy City" hosted the likes of Depeche Mode, Tool, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and of course, Jane's Addiction to name a few of the outstanding headliners. The first day was rainy, but it didn't keep the music lovers away! We caught performances by Angel Deradoorian of Dirty Projectors and Chicago natives Icy Demons, not to mention some visits from Reredux, White Lies, and Of Montreal! Enjoy! Song: "Miami Ice" by Icy Demons and "Carry The Deed" by Deradoorian. And for more, go to www.babelgum.com/icecreamman

Avett Brothers in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream Man
Since we were (sort of) in the area we decided to hit up George Wein’s Folk Festival 50 in Newport, Rhode Island. It was the festival’s 50th year anniversary & we even got to speak to the man himself. The new song the Avett Brothers played for us really captures the vibe of the beautiful, sunny weekend. Also look out for cameos from Ben Kweller and Ramblin Jack Elliott. song: Avett Brothers "I and Love and You". Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman!

Sleepy Sun and No Age in Road Trippin' With Ice Cream...
ATP (All Tomorrows Parties) is without a doubt, the artist’s and muso’s festival of festivals. Normally curated by a guest performer, ATP’s tribe like community of festival goers follow the annual events from Sydney, Australia to Camber Sands, England and now, for the second year, to Kutsher’s, up-state New York (Curated this year by The Flaming Lips). APT’s natural progression to a label has spurned this weeks guest performer, Sleepy Sun who we just can’t recommend enough. Sleepy Sun sounds like: breathtaking psychedelic and acoustic rock, demonstrating willful nostalgia with male-female dual vocals and an acoustic simplicity that leaves you wanting more. Don’t miss part 1 of No Age “Refrainal”. Check out more videos at babelgum.com/icecreamman

Flaming Lips and Times New Viking in Road Trippin'...
A road trip mapped out by the best events in music is one hell of a way to spend a summer, but Pitchfork Festival is by far one of the highlights for us. It’s a jam packed episode with Plants and Animals performing "Feedback in the Field" and headliner, Wayne Coyne, from Flaming Lips stopping by the truck to sling cream with Ice Cream Man. After watching Times New Viking kill it at "Bitchpork" (unofficial after show party) we asked if they'd stop by the truck next day to play us their new tune “No Time, No Hope". Song by Plants and Animals: "Feedback in the Field" and Times New Viking, “No Time, No Hope". "Oh Yeah" performed by Reredux. Enjoy! And for more, go to www.babelgum.com/icecreamman
