No Age

L.A. duo Randy Randall and Dean Allen Spunt previously played together in the astounding spasmodic punk tribe Wives, but upon the split of their former band in 2005, something equally thrilling was born. No Age might only number two members and wilfully embrace a lo-fi aesthetic, but there’s a depth to their music that mightn’t be apparent on first listen. This footage of the band tearing it up at SXSW 2009 reveals a bafflingly high level of musicianship for such a cacophonous, brilliant mess – and it’s added to by one of the most charming interviews in our archive.
