LA CREME DE LA CREME
You want to be rich and famous, or take care of sickly women? That is probably the punch line of the film. Who, these days, doesn‘t want to be rich and famous in our so called 1st world? The film is about a German porn- and beer-lover who joins up with a local snob from San Sebastian, Spain, in order to succeed in the market of Modern Art. Their foamy dreams end in a slightly different way than they imagined. The film portrays in a comic but disturbing, and entertaining, way the last days of our culture, our sooo modern but completely lost society. The story is about freedom that hasn‘t been understood. It is a fairy-tale, the anti WIZARD OF OZ. It shows the lost journey towards oneself. The genre is EUROSCHAUM. Schaum is German and means foam. The foam rises quickly when two strangers meet. Everybody wants to be somebody. Everybody wants to be important, to belong, no matter how deep he has to hide his true self. The film was shot with a low budget on MiniDV. I have choosen this way to finally (after years in screen-play business) get real and regain my artistic freedom.

John Baldessari
"John Baldessari revolutionised contemporary art in the 1960s and his artwork is still a profound influence on young artists today. Baldessari's work often attempts to point out irony in contemporary art theory and practices. His early photo-and-text works aimed to make art more accessible, looking for what he called ""more of a common language"". His paintings are collage-based, achieved by placing images in cut-out shapes or removing them to be replaced by others. This film reveals Baldessari in all aspects of his work: as an artist in his studio, alongside the technicians who support him, as a teacher interacting with his students, and as a passionate observer of the contemporary art scene in Venice and Basel. It offers valuable insights into the work of a radically modern-thinking artist and sharpens our perception of the often inaccessible world of contemporary art. The DVD also features You Call That Art, an exclusive interview of the artist by Allan Kaprow. Additional material includes interviews with David Hickey, Mike Kelly, Thomas McEvilley, Ed Ruscha, Coosje van Bruggen, Lawrence Weiner and Ealan Wingate."

THE QUEUE
The queue is a film about limits. We see a perfectly rational man driven to extremes by the frustrations of modern life and an automated telephone system. A comical narration guides us through his transformation from passive customer to radicalised sociopath and violent criminal, as he is pushed to breaking point.

Donatello
"With his bronze David, Donatello created modernity’s first life-size, free-standing sculpture – a masterpiece of the early Italian Renaissance. Familiar with classical art, he enriched sculpture with individual expression, becoming an artist much in demand. He worked for the Quattrocento’s most powerful patrons, such as Cosimo de’ Medici and the Catholic Church. Innovations in sculptural craft like his flat relief technique made him very influential on into the 20th century. The film takes us to Florence, Padua and Siena, exploring, with sculptors like Henry Moore, the work of this bold craftsman so skilled at telling stories through images."

The Art of Helen Chadwick
Until her unexpected death in 1996, Helen Chadwick was amongst the most sparkling, provocative and distinctive of artists. Her sensual and rigorously intellectual works explore desire, sexuality amd the body. Produced alongside a major retrospective exhibition, organised by London's Barbican Art Gallery, this film provides a rare opportunity to to reflect on her art. Important installations are featured, such as Ego Geometria Sum, which uses photographs of her own naked body, and the Baroque fantasy The Oval Court, as well as more controversial pieces, including Cacao, a fountain of hot bubbling chocolate, and the Piss Flowers, sculptures made by casting the holes left after urinating in snow.
