Freewheelers: Ben's Lowrider
London designer Ben Wilson has worked with some very big names: Issey Miyake, Puma, Brooks, Nike and Ron Arad. But perhaps none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for his Americana-inspired lowrider. A beautiful exploration of form, movement and function, this fantastical lowrider kick-started Ben’s career and is emblematic of his lifelong love affair with the bicycle.

Freewheelers: Jess's Self-Build
“I just try to ride without stopping". And it’s not easy to stop when you’re riding a, er, brakeless mountain bike. Adrenalin-junkie or just plain foolhardy? Jess has an amped-up attitude to go with the mire of London traffic. But this fashion student from Louisana also has a very laidback sense of personal style. Riding without brakes in London is one thing, but riding in shorts? That’s certifiable.

Vice Versus - Rollapaluza
Originally from the courier scene, Rollapaluza is a static indoor bike race held in pubs or clubs. The races are usually 500 meter to 1 kilometer sprints on genuine track bikes. In London, the burgeoning fixed-wheel bike scene is helping to draw more and more people to the events where the combination of beer and fierce competition makes for an electric atmosphere.

Freewheelers: Saki's Moulton
The Moulton is a British design icon; a small-wheeled, folding bike recognisable for its Meccano-like frame. The original design was inspired by aeronautical engineering, and the bike was once synonymous with London of the Swinging 60's. When we stumbled across a yellow one hanging up in a fellow-cyclists’ flat, we wanted to know who it belonged to. That's how we met Saki, a die-hard cyclist from Tokyo, now braving London on a yellow 'Land Rover' Moulton and a white jumpsuit.
