Babelgum’s House of Horrors

Jack O’Lantern? Check. Costume? Check. Tricks (or treats)? Check.

Scary movies, shorts and animation? Look no further!

We give you the Babelgum Halloween channel, now live on web and mobile.

Highlights include:

- classic full-length horror such as Nosferatu and Night of the Living Dead

- spine chilling shorts like Behind You and Trick or Treat

- close encounters at an asylum for the criminally insane in Transylvania

- fearless blood-sucking bugs feasting on a bat.

If cute monsters are more your thing, then join in the scarily fluffy Halloween puppy party, or the endearing animated hero of A Bat’s Life.

The Occulterers’ Vampire Flashmob

Those crazy kids at Babelgum Comedy are causing a ruckus all over the world. Two such examples are this Saturday’s Vampire Flashmob in Hollywood, California. If you happen to be in the area looking for a drink or a bite (like a vampire, get it?) here are the details.

Sluts Save Lives

Don’t judge a book by its cover, and don’t judge a Halloween hoochie just because she’s got a little extra cleavage showing. In their latest video, Landline TV lampoons the time-honored practice of dressing like a whore for Halloween; even if that whore happens to have a doctorate. Watch this latest video right here, right now:

For more of Landline’s comedy, check out their page on Babelgum. For more great comedy like this, check out Babelgum’s Political and Topical Comedy channel. Remember, if an apple a day keeps the doctor away, maybe stick with candy to bring these ladies around.

Weezer Want You To (…check out another Babelgum Exclusive)

We’ve got something special for Weezer fans and anybody who feels the need for some sunny alt-rock tunes to lift their spirits as the nights draw in: Weezer’s latest video “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” is previewing right here, from today – yes, it’s another global exclusive for Babelgum web and mobile.

Ok, so the title doesn’t exactly trip off the tongue but the song’s catchiness more than makes up for it and the video features a “beautiful stranger” who shows up in Weezerville and rocks the band’s world…

The single is taken from the Grammy winners’ eclectic seventh album “Raditude”, out early November, which “sounds like a roomful of people having a great time”, according to lead singer/guitarist/songwriter Rivers Cuomo.

We also have behind the scenes footage including the making of the video (see below) and interviews with the band, cast and director Marc Webb. Also, stay tuned for our Weezer video-mashup competition, launching next week (prizes include Weezer Snuggies, LPs and the chance to work with the band themselves).

Mass Debaters – Legalizing Drugs

We asked some of the talented comedians involved with our recent Mass Debaters series their opinions on a wide variety of topics. Here’s one response from comedian Tom Clark.

TomClarkHeadshot_web

I think drugs should remain illegal, for at least as long as it takes for the 320 condoms full of heroin I swallowed to pass through my system.

I think the ill effects of drugs are highly sensationalized by the media, but if you’re really high you should totally watch The O’Reilly Factor  on mute and listen to Side 2 of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” everything matches up perfectly.
