PJ Harvey returns…
Legendary British singer-songwriter PJ Harvey offers up a taster, for her forthcoming album ‘Let England Shake’ (due for release on 14th February 2011), entitled ‘Written On The Forehead’.
The evocative new track is a sweltering, sultry number that conjures up visions of a warm and dusty land, filled with belly dancers and tangerine trees. Check it out:

So – The Streets last ever, ever album ‘Computers And Blues’ has been scheduled for release early in 2011, but Mike Skinner has also recently unveiled plans to release a new album before that called ‘Cyberspace And Reds’. In a recent interview with Radio 1, Skinner said that ‘Computers And Blues’ would be “dark and futuristic,” whilst ‘Cyberspace And Reds’ would be “painfully repetitive.” It’s an oddly un-enticing sales pitch but you can draw your own conclusions by checking out two sample tracks, ‘Going Through Hell,’ and ‘Too Numb,’ now, at Stereogum.

Ellie Goulding gets remixed – again…
Goulding’s groundbreaking chart-topper ‘Lights’ gets the remix treatment from Potomac Boys Club – who masterfully chuck in a little Waka Flocka Flame and Wale to the Goulding mix, for good measure. It’s pretty great stuff. Listen now, at pigeonsandplanes.com

The Killers – shaking their jingle-makers
Finally – because it’s that season again and because The Killers are sticklers for tradition, they have penned another Christmas song for charity. For the fifth consecutive year, The Killers are releasing a holiday tune in aid of the (RED) foundation, who work with iconic brands including Apple, Nike and Starbucks in raising money for HIV and Aids programs in Africa.
This latest Killers Christmas track, entitled ‘Boots’, comes complete with a video directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre). Starbucks are promising to donate 5¢ to (RED) every time the video gets viewed. This means that whilst you don’t actually have to like The Killers – you do still have to watch their video. Lots.
