Gorillaz Return

Babelgum are chuffed to play host to the video to 'Stylo' featuring Bobby Womack and Mos Def - the first video, proper, from Gorillaz forthcoming album 'Plastic Beach'.

Animated rabble-rousing punkers, Gorillaz, prepare to release their hotly anticipated third studio album, 'Plastic Beach', on 3 March in Japan, 8 March 2010 in the United Kingdom and 9 March 2010 in the United States.

About The Band

In the late 1990's Jamie Hewlett met Damon Albarn and the concept of Gorillaz, the most successful animated band ever, was born sometime after.

Fronted by four wildly talented but totally disparate characters: pretty-but-vacant singer 2D, satanic bassist Murdoc Niccals, Japanese guitar prodigy Noodle and amiable man-mountain drummer Russel Hobbs; the band debuted their eponymous album to huge critical acclaim in 2000.

Second album, 'Demon Days' followed in 2005 and by 2007 the combined sales of debut LP 'Gorillaz' and 'Demon Days' had exceeded 15 million albums.

The birth of the band was also captured in eye-popping technicolor by film maker Ceri Levy. The result is the documentary 'Bananaz' - an intimate, honest and often hilarious account of the working relationship between Albarn and Hewlett. Filmed behind the scenes from 2000 to 2006 the film explores Gorillaz - from those first drawings, music and musicians - through to the faces behind the voices of Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel Hobbs; plus the very special guest collaborators (including Dennis Hopper and De la Soul...) who contributed so much to the punk phenomena.

'Bananaz' premiered right here in April 2009 and will be COMING BACK TO BABELGUM, IN FULL, VERY SOON! Click back here in the coming weeks to watch again!

In the meantime stick here for your taster of what's to come next: Gorillaz album #3, 'Plastic Beach'. It should be very special indeed...
