Road Trippin' Diary It’s been a few weeks since Music Fest NorthWest in Portland and I’m still stuck with the cold I caught up there. The good part was that it slowed me down a lot and being lazy is something I don’t often find the time for. We lucked up this year that MFNW got pushed back to have a weekend between it and Bumbershoot so that we could fly to New York for All Tomorrow’s Parties in between. I reckon this is my third appearance at MFNW. It’s never taken much convincing to show up, I always want to hang out around Portland if I can. (Before I go any further, YES, Portland is as great as everyone says BUT…. If you don’t have a job, don’t just up ‘n move there, there aren’t that many to be had). The good news was that NIKE was throwing their free day parties Thursday through Saturday and they always save us a parking spot out front and get us passes and free shoes. Why are these shows so great, well… Dr. Dog AND Helio Sequence played the first day. Yup, two of my favorites on the same day and the shows start at 5 so they’re just perfect. ... (more)
