Grand Prize Winner: Quio (Germany) for "So Dazed"

The Babelgum Music Video "Grand Prize" (a record development deal with Universal Music UK) went to Quio (Germany) for her "So Dazed", produced by Christine Lang (Director).

Performance Award: Old Wives' Tale (USA) for [15]Amphetamine

The Performance Award (an opening slot at a gig at one of MAMA Group's live music venues) went to Old Wives' Tale (USA) for their "[15]Amphetamine", produced by Jaime A. Valencia - The Creative Motel and directed by Jorge Valdés-Iga.

Babelgum Music Video "Mobile Award"

The third prize, Babelgum Music Video "Mobile Award", went to the 40 semi-finalists and consisted of promotion amongst the Highlights of Babelgum Mobile, the new service version for Internet 3G enabled mobile phones, currently available in the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

How the competition worked

The contest kicked off on October 6th and submissions closed on November 17th.

-The competition consisted of 4 rounds of public voting that determined the 40 entries that made it through to the Semi-Finals.

-The 40 entries that advanced to the Semi-Finals are now being showcased in the Babelgum Mobile application.

-During the Semi-Finals, votes were all reset and the top 10 vote-getters went to the Finals. The top-vote getter at the end of the Finals won the Performance Award, ie. an opening slot at a gig in the UK.

-In the Finals, our panel of celebrity judges selected the Grand Prize winner who won a record development deal with Universal Music UK.

-The winner was announced on 13th February.
