Babelgum. Watch What's Next

INTRODUCING...LISSIE

Mesmerizing Mississippi singer/songwriter LISSIE has the kind of freckled-faced radiance that the Olson twins would skin for.

The whiskey-voiced singer, who likes pies, porches and once sold honey for a living, is captivating new audiences far and wide with her freeway-riding, Americana.

Find out why she's set to become one of the most head-turning acts of the year by watching her new video, exclusive to Babelgum, here.

RECOMMENDED BY...THE FUTUREHEADS

This month, Ross Millard from The Futureheads tips us off about his favourite new bands:

1. Dutch Uncles
This band are from Manchester and have one album to their name.  Their songs are concise pop nuggets that are highly musical, usually unusual, and a tinge melancholic.  The frontman dances like no-one you've ever seen! Check out the song 'Face In' - perfect!

2. Baddies
This Southend four-piece have played with us a few times, and released their excellent debut record last record, to much acclaim.  My favourite track is 'Open One Eye'.  Sean Genockey, who produced their album, has just finished mixing our new record.

3. Everything Everything
We played with these guys a couple of years back in Sunderland, so it's really nice to see that they're becoming hot property now!  They've got some great songs, with Suffragette Suffragette being my favourite.  They were shortlisted for BBC's Sound of 2010, too.

4. Golden Silvers
I like this band because their manifesto reminds me of how The Futureheads started.  In their case, they have chosen to do without guitars - in ours, we eschewed effects and pedals etc.  'Arrows of Eros' is a great tune, and hopefully we'll see more of this band v. soon.
