NEW ARTIST SPECIAL - TWIZZLE Introducing Twizzle, the teen-grimester whose swagger and slick rap-rhetoric will be stirring up a frenzy throughout 2010. Babelgum is chuffed to play host to the debut music video from Twizzle, to 'Skydiving', alongside behind the scenes footage and three short films - shot with Twizzle in and around London. 'Skydiving' will drop on February 22nd via Squarepeg. Watch on... BIO Born and raised by his mum in West London, Twizzle was introduced at 12 to the music of Jay Z, Wiley and Dizzee Rascal. Inspired into writing his own rhymes he created a stir amongst peers in the playground and was soon dubbed ‘Mr Popular’ by teachers. One year later he was expelled for selling weed and by the age of 14 he was even deeper into a bad game. At the same time his stage-name Twizzle was creating waves after some underground recordings, a pirate radio stint and two-year winning run at London rap contest ‘Who’s Got West on Lock’. Despite the buzz on the underground, after one foot too many out of line he was sent to jail - at just 16 years of age. They call it a wake-up call. On release, Twizzle got it together and soon hooked up with a manager, holed himself up in a studio and produced a mix-tape ‘Str8 out the Jar' and debut track ‘Skydiving’. … (more) |
