The competition gives you a chance to shine alongside the world’s biggest Broadway shows in one of the busiest places on the planet. THE WORLD'S BIGGEST ART SHOW NEEDS YOU! Babelgum Metropolis is looking for the globe’s best and edgiest artists for the world’s biggest art show (probably!). Winners will have their work shown on giant advertising screens this December in Times Square, the neon heart of New York City. Not only will you share your artwork with millions in the world’s contemporary art capital, you’ll also enjoy the kudos of being a maverick art squatter among New York’s most expensive advertising real estate! WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We want to be inspired, challenged, excited, awed, moved, intrigued and weirded-out. Babelgum’s Metropolis channel explores and celebrates the city and the urban environment in all its gritty, strange and wonderful permutations. We’re looking for art that reflects this spirit. THE RULES The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world, working in any visual medium, but entries will be judged on the basis of a video submitted by the artist. Entries can be video art, or short films on the subject of the artist's work. The video must be owned or controlled by the artist. In the event that the artist featured in a winning video is not the filmmaker, the prize will be awarded to the artist. If the video is a collaboration between the artist and the filmmaker or between more than one artist, please refer to the FAQs. You must not include musical works and/or recordings in your submissions without written consent and clearance from the owners and contributors of the same. (Sorry!). The entry period was from September 1 to October 25 2009. Check the FAQs for more details. FAQS Click more to read the FAQs ... (more) |
