So, which events should you bee-line for this month? We suggest:
1. Pitchfork Festival, Chicago: One of the best festivals of the summer, curated and hosted by the legendary internet trend-setters. Features more indie than you could shake a stick at - Modest Mouse, LCD Soundsystem, Raekwon, Pavement, Big Boi, Major Lazer, Beach House, Sleigh Bells... (July 16-18)
2. T In The Park, Kinross-shire: Scotland's biggest festival manages to boast one of the greatest line-ups in the UK, let-alone Scotland, with headlining acts including Muse, Eminem, Kasabian (July 9-11)
3. Wireless, Hyde Park: Central London's park pop scorcher finds hard-hitters Jay-Z, P!nk, Lily Allen, The Temper Trap and Missy Elliot, amongst others, take to stages in 2010 (July 2-4)

5. Secret Garden Party Festival, East Anglia : Not our favorite line-up of the summer but the event itself - with its family friendly mix of lakeside bars, fancy dress stalls and custard pie fighting frolics - more than makes up for it (July 22-25)
6. Newport Folk Festival, Fort Adams, Rhode Island: Long-running, lauded folk festival renowned for introducing the likes of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan onto the scene. In 2010, the likes of Blitzen Trapper, The Avett Brothers and Andrew Bird take to stages (July 30-Aug 1)
7. Latitude, Henham, Suffolk: The fun, chilled boutique festival returns to its leafy home in Suffolk with Florence & the Machine, Belle and Sebastian and an inordinate number of fancy-dress fans in tow (July 15-18)
8. Nateva Festival, Oxford, Maine: Already going? Make sure to swing by Ice Cream Man Matt's Truck for some FREE icy treats and keep one eye here for films from the festival. With Flaming Lips, She & Him, Passion Pit (July 2-4)
9. Lovebox Weekender, Victoria Park: The scenester-swamped East London festival returns this year with Dizzee Rascal, Roxy Music and Grace Jones (July 16-18)
10. Truck, Steventon: This teeny-tiny festival in the heart of Oxfordshire apparently takes its name from 'Convoy' movie soundtrack: 'Ten Trucking Greats'. 'Nuff said. This year, Mew, Teenage Fanclub, Fucked Up and more all take to the flatbed truck stages (July 23-25)
